Recompute Formulas at Record Level
The Recompute Formulas at the record level will only recompute formulas for fields at the record level and not for tables in that record.
As shown in the above screenshot IMG 1 the UI has not changed but the logic has been updated.
Note:
The old system recomputed formulas for all the fields and tables in that record. This has now changed.
Recompute Formulas Check Box in Advanced Formula Builder Modal and Blackout Column Modal in PI
A new “Recompute Formulas“ Checkbox option with a ‘?' information icon is now available in both the Advanced Formula Builder Modal and Blackout Column Modal as shown in the below screenshots IMG 2 and 3. The '?' when hovered over shows the tooltip message “Tick the box to recompute formulas of all the dependent fields.“. This is unchecked by default. If the user wants to recompute formulas for dependent fields they can do so by checking in the check box.
Note:
The flag was added to save time when multiple updates need to be done. So here only the column formula update or blackout will be done if the check box is not checked in. The recompute button in the PI can be used to recompute the formulas later when required. If unchecked the formula recalculation for its dependent columns will not be done, thus saving time.
Recompute Formulas Option in PI
A new Recompute Formulas option is available at the top right section of the PI (if there are any formula recomputation issues in that PI) as shown in the below screenshot IMG 4. This shows up when the user unchecks the recomputation checkbox in the Advanced Formula Builder Modal and Blackout Column Modal.
Selecting the Recompute icon shows a slide out to confirm the recomputation of formulas in that PI as shown in the below screenshot IMG 5.
Confirming the action will disable the recompute option in the PI and the status of the PI will be changed to ‘Updating’ with a ‘View details’ option as shown in the below screenshot IMG 6.
Selecting the ‘View details’ option will show the ‘Updating’ slide-out with the details of the formula recomputation in that PI as shown in the below screenshot IMG 7.
Note:
The icon used for the formula recomputation button will be updated to a new design (reused the existing icon).
