When workflow planning is enabled, you will be able to view the workflow as a gantt chart, as seen below.
We recognize, that while processes have average or desired durations, many individual projects have nuances and require flexibility in the timeline. Therefore, Winmore is built to allow you to adjust the timeline in a few different ways.
One is to adjust a task and have all subsequent tasks adjust accordingly. For information on that process, please see this article.
The second option is to adjust a single task while NOT adjusting all subsequent tasks. That process is detailed below.
Updating the Timeline without reconfiguring all dependent Tasks
If you want to update tasks in the Timeline, but NOT to reconfigure all subsequent tasks automatically, you can turn off Automatic Replanning.
To access the Automatically Replan Timeline button, go to the Workflow Task view page and click the Workflow Options button. This is the button containing three dots and next to the Workflow button. From the slide out, choose the Planning Options Menu and ensure the Automatically Replan Task Dates button is toggled off:
Now you will be able to update tasks in the timeline while NOT affecting any following tasks. Click the Timeline button to view the Timeline.
In this example, we will update the Draw Up Contract task to be only a single day.
You will see, with Automatic Timeline Planning turned off, all subsequent tasks retain their original task dates, while only the Draw Up Contract task was adjusted.
With Automatic Timeline Planning turned off, the system will work similarly in skipping tasks.
