When workflow planning is enabled, you will be able to view the workflow as a gantt chart, as seen below.
We recognize, that while processes have average or desired durations, many individual projects have nuances and require flexibility in the timeline. Therefore, Winmore is built to allow you to adjust the timeline in a few different ways.
One is to adjust a task and have all subsequent tasks adjust accordingly. That process is detailed below.
The second option is to adjust a task while NOT adjusting all subsequent tasks. For information on that process, please see this article.
Automatically reconfigure dependent Tasks
If you want to update tasks in the Timeline, and have all of the following tasks automatically re-adjust, you can turn on Automatic Replanning. This is the default setting, but note that if you turn it off, you will have to turn it back on for this to work as expected.
To access the Automatically Replan Timeline button, go to the Workflow Task view page and click the Workflow Options button. This is the button containing three dots and next to the Workflow button. From the slide out, choose the Planning Options Menu and ensure the Automatically Replan Task Dates button is toggled on:
Now you will be able to update tasks in the timeline and have all subsequent tasks automatically update.
Click the Timeline button to view the Timeline. Find a task that you wish to modify and click on its task bar.
Once in the task, you can modify the start and due dates by clicking on the blue date link.
You can choose to update either the start date, the end date, or both. By clicking which date you want to edit, you will come to a calendar to choose your date.
Note that if you try to choose a Saturday, Sunday or holiday, you will receive an error since these are set up as non-working days in the system. Your company Winmore Administrator can adjust non-working days based on your organization’s needs. But if possible, enjoy a day of rest and try not to work. Once the dates are set, click Save.
The system takes a moment to re-generate the timeline. Now the subsequent tasks will all be updated based on the new task dates. (In the below example, Legal Pre-Qual now begins Sept 4th as opposed to originally starting on Sept 8th).
To remove the task entirely, you can click on the task bar and choose the Skip Task button.
The system takes a moment to re-generate the timeline. Now the subsequent tasks will all be moved forward in the timeline to replace the skipped task.
