Recompute Formulas at Record Level
The “Recompute Formulas” at Tender level (in the left menu), turns RED indicating to user that the underlying formula has been updated for one of the formula field in the Tender. This visual indicator ensures users are aware when they need to refresh calculations to obtain the latest values, enhancing data accuracy.
📢 Users should click the “Recompute Formulas” to get the latest value(s) recalculated for the formula field(s). This action applies only to that particular Tender.
If the recomputation was done for that record previously, then when the user selects to see the slide-out, the information of when it was previously done would also be shown.
Note: The icon used for formula recomputation at the record level will be updated to a new icon (This new icon is already used in the formula recomputation option in the PI).
Recompute Formulas in Advanced Formula Builder and Blackout Column Modals
A new “Recompute Formulas“ Checkbox option with a ‘?' information icon is now available in both the Advanced Formula Builder Modal and Blackout Column Modal as shown in the below screenshots. The '?' when hovered over shows the tooltip message “Tick the box to recompute formulas of all the dependent fields.“. This is unchecked by default. If the user wants to recompute formulas for dependent fields they can do so by checking in the check box.
Note: The flag was added to save time when multiple updates need to be done. So here only the column formula update or blackout will be done if the check box is not checked in. The recompute button in the PI can be used to recompute the formulas later when required. If unchecked the formula recalculation for its dependent columns will not be done, thus saving time.
Enable Recompute for Manual Blackout of a Cell
When a user selects a cell to be blacked out, they are prompted with a notification message. In other instances of blacking out when the notification message is presented, the user can recalculate formulas. This is currently not possible. With this feature the user will be prompted with the screen as shown below
If the user selects to have the recalculation done at this point, the system will recalculate all formulas associated with that field.
Note: Formula recalculation is a function that is enabled for most organization. If you are new to this, please note that that application has a process that automatically updates formulas without having a user to trigger it. The automatic updates are only possible to template values changes. When a formula or a black out condition is changed, the system needs the user to trigger the calculation.
Enable Manual Column Blackout to a Filtered Data Set
User will now have the ability to filter a list of lanes in a price inspector and apply a column blackout to just those rows. In the previous implementation, you have to blackout the entire row, via a manual mechanism.
All previous condition around blacking out cells are retained with this feature. If Shipper-provided blackouts are enabled, they take the highest precedent, the rule-based and then manual. This means user can remove these manual set columns, but cannot remove Shipper-provided blackouts or Rule-based blackouts.
Process Shipper Blackout Change Via Import
When user needs to augment blackout conditions provided by their customer (shipper), the application will now be able to apply those changes to a files that has no other augmentation. This should reduce the need to manually augment additional blackout columns or manually “cause” a condition in the shipper file to read the blackout changes. Users now will be able to import a file with just those changes and the system will properly interpret the changes.
Allow Removal of Shipper Black Out from Price Inspector
Bulk Blackout Removal:
A new "Remove Blackout" option is now available in the column menu.
Users can remove all blackouts (shipper- or user-imposed) from an entire column in one action, improving efficiency.
Self-Managed Template Support:
Files imported with the new "Organization Name - Managed" option (dynamically named based on the logged-in user) will provide customers full control over blackout, grayout, and other settings.
This ensures flexibility for organizations managing their templates independently.
These enhancements eliminate the need for tedious cell-by-cell blackout removal or file re-imports, providing a more efficient workflow for managing self-managed templates.
Recompute Formulas Option in the Price Inspector
A new Recompute Formulas option is available at the top right section of the PI (if there are any formula recomputation issues in that PI) as shown in the below screenshot. This is shown in red when the user leaves the recomputation checkbox unchecked in the Advanced Formula Builder Modal and Blackout Column Modal or if there are any other recomputation issues in the PI (If a formula gets updated from the studio that affects the PI).
All the rows that have recomputation issue(s) will have the recompute icon to highlight the issue(s) that’s present in that row. This option will always be available, i.e., if the PI doesn’t have a recomputation issue the icon will be shown in blue and the user will still be able to recompute the formulas for that PI.
Note:
When a formula is updated in the PI and the recomputation checkbox is not checked in, then the recomputation flag will be turned on. This can also occur if a column is blacked out.
When a formula is updated from the studio, the update will not be instantly applied to the dependent PI’s. Rather the recomputation flag will be turned on the user can manually trigger the recomputation. Here the user doesn’t have the recompute checkbox, their update will be handled as detailed below.
Recompute Formulas for Studio changes in the PI based on Lane and Bid Status
If a formula is updated from the studio, the recompute flag will be turned on for Bid statuses Anticipated, Qualifying, and Preparing, and then the lane statuses To Price, pending Approval, ready to submit. In all other cases of Bid statuses (Submitted, Awarded, Lost, Cancelled, and Disqualified) and lane statuses (Submitted, No bid, Cancelled, Awarded Primary, Awarded Backup, and Lost) we needn’t turn on the recompute flag.

Recompute Formulas option in Workbench and Task Layout
As shown in the below screenshot the users have a recompute formulas option in the workbench itself in the PI table preview. This is also available in the task layout. Here the functionality is the same as what we do inside the PI. The user will be able to see the modal with the list of formula columns and then recompute them. The progress notification can be seen instantly but if the user minimizes then the progress can only be seen inside of the PI → ‘View Details’ → Updating slide-out.
Warning message in Create Submission, Preview Shipper Spreadsheet, and PI Export Modals
If there is a recomputation issue and the user is trying to export, a warning message "Identified formula recomputation issues in the Price Inspector. Please recompute the formulas to update before exporting/submitting." with a yellow warning sign will be shown in the respective modals.
