Editing an Existing Insight View
If you are the owner of an Insight and would like to edit it, you can do so by clicking into the view, then clicking the gear button and choosing “Edit.” If you are not the owner, you can choose to Clone the insight and edit the new clone.
Once in the Insight View Creation screen, you will be able to change/update filters and conditions, add or remove columns, reorder data or change the shared status of the Insight View.

Editable Insights View
This enables users to directly modify data within a table interface, offering an intuitive and familiar experience akin to a spreadsheet and the editable Price Inspectable in the previous release. This feature allows users to make quick edits, streamlining the data entry process and reducing the need for sequential navigation across individual record fields.
Key Aspects of the solution include:
- Direct Cell Editing: Users can double-click on cells within the Insights table to activate edit mode, allowing efficient data updates without navigating away from the view.
- Field-Specific Editing Rules: Only editable fields are available for editing from the record detail page are editable in the insights view. Restrictions, such as read-only fields, formula fields, grayed-out fields, file uploads, string lists are not editable.
- Data Validation: Inline edits follow existing field validation rules, including data type compatibility and mandatory field checks. Any invalid entries are flagged, and users must resolve errors before saving changes.
- Data Type Recognition: The system displays the appropriate input type (e.g., date picker, dropdown) based on the data type of the field being edited.
- Concurrent Edits Handling: Inline editing includes mechanisms to detect and handle concurrent edits if multiple users attempt to modify the same cell, ensuring data integrity.
- Audit Logging: All edits made within Insights are tracked in the audit log for transparency and compliance.
📢 Due to existing performance optimizations, insights automatically refresh modified field values every 5 minutes. If users revisit or refresh an insights view before the specified interval, they will see previously saved values, unless they click the "Run Now" button to instantly retrieve the latest data.
Support Batch Update and Delete functionality within the Insights.
To improve usability and efficiency, a new feature has been introduced to support batch update and batch delete actions directly from the Insights page.
Users can now update multiple records simultaneously with selected field values via the Insights page. This action is permission-based and requires the user to have Update access on the corresponding record template.
-
Users can now select multiple rows and delete them in one action. This action requires the user to have Delete access on the relevant record template.
Configuration Required
Log in as a Customer admin user > Go to Studio > Record Template > Click on the Settings (Gear Icon) > Select Edit
You will now see a new flag labelled "Enable Batch Update and Delete on Insights". This flag is available for all standard templates. Once enabled, the corresponding record types will display Batch Update and Delete options on the Insights page.
Feature Boundaries:
When performing a batch update from the Insights page, any configured automations or rules will not be triggered. This is an intentional design choice to prevent system overload during bulk operations, which could otherwise lead to performance issues or slow down the overall application.
-
When users apply filters, select specific rows, and perform delete or update actions, the system successfully reflects those changes within the filtered view. However, if the user navigates back to the Insights page without any filters.
A. Then the deleted rows may temporarily reappear, or updated rows may continue to display the old values. This occurs due to a caching delay in the UI and is temporary. The deleted rows will be permanently removed from the Insights view automatically after 5 minutes. Similarly, updated rows will display the latest values automatically after 5 minutes.
B. If the user wishes to see the most up-to-date data immediately, you can click the “Run Now” option on the Insights page. This action refreshes the cache and renders the latest data instantly on the UI.
Freeze Pane for Insights
To improve usability and data context retention in wide insights, we are introducing Freeze Pane functionality for Insights. This enhancement addresses a key challenge users face when working with horizontally scrollable reports by enabling them to lock key identifier columns for easier navigation and reference.
When the feature flag is enabled, users will now see a “Freeze Pane” option in the column menu (accessed via the ellipsis ...).
Please refer the below screenshot:
Key Functionalities:
-
Selecting “Freeze Pane” will:
Visually mark the selected column with a thicker, darker line on its right edge to indicate that it is now frozen.
-
Change the menu option label from Freeze to Unfreeze, allowing users to easily reverse the action.
Please refer the below screenshot: As users scroll horizontally:
All columns to the left of the frozen pane will remain static.
Columns to the right of the frozen pane will scroll normally.
NOTE:
Freeze Pane settings are user-specific. Multiple users can freeze different columns on the same Insight based on their personal preferences.
Once applied, freeze pane settings are persisted across sessions, unless explicitly changed by the user.
Reordering columns within an Insight layout will automatically reset any existing freeze panes.
